I. Basic Background

The SQRE4T15C is a second-generation ACTECO 1.5-liter turbocharged multi-point fuel injection engine. It is a fully upgraded version of the SQRE4T15B that meets China National VI b emission standards. Mass installation on vehicles commenced in 2019. It is primarily fitted to family sedans, compact/midsize SUVs and entry-level Jetour models, and also serves as the range-extending power generator for Chery Kunpeng DHT plug-in hybrid systems. This engine adopts a cast iron cylinder block paired with an aluminum alloy cylinder head and MPI multi-point manifold port injection, without high-pressure direct injection. It features a simple mechanical structure, low carbon accumulation and affordable maintenance costs. It comes with an original factory warranty of 10 years / 1,000,000 kilometers, supports 92# unleaded gasoline and is compatible with LPG gas conversion. It is Chery’s high-volume mainstream 1.5T powertrain.

Its reliability as a turbocharged engine far outperforms full-aluminum cylinder blocks. MPI Multi-Point Manifold Port Injection Gasoline continuously flushes the intake manifolds and intake valves, eliminating the persistent intake valve carbon buildup issue common to direct-injection engines. Only regular throttle valve cleaning is required, bringing lower maintenance costs and broader fuel compatibility. Integrated Exhaust Manifold Exhaust passages are integrated into the cylinder head for fast cold-start warm-up, shortening engine heat-up time and reducing cold-engine fuel consumption and tailpipe emissions. Power Characteristics Full 230N·m torque is delivered at only 1750rpm. Its low-speed torque output below 1500rpm is noticeably stronger than that of the SQRE4T15B, with barely perceptible lag during takeoff and low-speed overtaking. The wide torque plateau spanning 1750–4000rpm provides ample power reserve for full-load family driving, hill climbing and high-speed re-acceleration. Power output fades markedly above 5000rpm, making it unsuitable for aggressive driving. The 6MT manual transmission delivers low power loss for more responsive acceleration; the CVT offers smooth, gentle driving with lower cruising RPM at highway speeds; the wet DCT features faster shift response.
