I. Basic Background

The SQRE4G15B belongs to the second-generation ACTECO 1.5L naturally aspirated powertrain. It is Chery’s core National V emission engine developed for entry-level commuter vehicles, mass-installed on vehicles from 2016 to 2019, and later replaced by its upgraded National VI b variant SQRE4G15C. This engine adopts a cast iron cylinder block paired with an aluminum alloy cylinder head and MPI multi-point manifold port injection. It has no turbocharger or high-pressure direct injection system, featuring a simple mechanical structure, low failure rate and affordable maintenance costs. Compatible with 92# unleaded gasoline and LPG natural gas conversion, it is widely fitted on online car-hailing vehicles and taxis with a huge market stock. It comes standard with dual DVVT variable valve timing and a VIS variable-length intake manifold, and is not equipped with an EGR exhaust gas recirculation system (not required for National V emission standards).
